beautifullosers: Banjo (Old Ideas)

gordana454:

There’s something that I’m watching
Means a lot to me
There’s something that I’m watching
Means a lot to me

It’s a broken banjo bobbing
On the dark infested sea
It’s a broken banjo bobbing
On the dark infested sea

Don’t know how it got there
Maybe taken by the wave
Don’t know how it…

We find ourselves on different sides
Of a line nobody drew
Though it all may be one in the higher eye
Down here where we live it is two.

Leonard Cohen adds extra UK tour date

An extra UK date has been added to the Leonard Cohen tour 2012.

The legendary singer will now give two performances at Hop Farm Country Park in Tonbridge, Kent.

As well as taking to the stage on September 8th, he will entertain crowds on September 9th and Leonard Cohen tickets are available now for the events.

The extra show was added due to what promoter Vince Power described as “overwhelming” demand and considering these are the singer/songwriter’s only British gigs for this year, people may want to get their tickets as soon as possible.

“These will be Leonard Cohen’s only UK dates this year and we’re over the moon he’s decided to play them here,” Mr Power added.

He said it “promises to be a fantastic weekend”.

Famous for songs like Hallelujah and Suzanne, Cohen is sure to put on a very special show for fans that come to watch him this summer.

…He said that the older you get, the lonelier you become, and the deeper the love you need. Which means that this hero that you’re trying to maintain as the central figure in the drama of your life— this hero is not enjoying the life of a hero. You’re exerting a tremendous maintenance to keep this heroic stance available to you, and the hero is suffering defeat after defeat. And they’re not heroic defeats; they’re ignoble defeats. Finally, one day you say, ‘Let him die— I can’t invest any more in this heroic position.’ From there, you just live your life as if it’s real— as if you have to make decisions even though you have absolutely no guarantee of any of the consequences of your decisions.

to expound upon this quote is to tarnish it; to deprive it of its power; to be pedantic. but this is essentially the most important life lesson i’ve ever learned.
